On January 22nd, Grey Bruce OPP responded to an address in Southgate and began an intimate partner violence investigation. Police learned that one individual had allegedly committed a criminal act against their partner.
A 27-year-old from Orangeville was charged with:
· Assault – spousal (four counts)
· Assault cause bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle (two counts)
· Failure to comply with undertaking (two counts)
The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victims.
