The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) helped in an investigation that recovered nearly $4 million worth of stolen vehicles.
In July, investigators from the Airport Division Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) identified, mapped, and analyzed crime patterns that indicated a car theft ring was operating in the area. “Peel Police understands the personal toll it takes on anyone who has their vehicle stolen,” says Deputy Chief with the Peel Police, Marc Andrews. “It’s distressing and causes disruption in their daily lives. Peel Police continues to lead the field in arrests, just like in this investigation, which effectively shut down a proliferate auto theft ring. This operation is a testament to the power of collaboration, data-driven investigations, and a shared commitment to protecting the public.”
