Caledon and Dufferin OPP have kicked off their festive RIDE programs. From now until New Years Day the campaign will be focused on removing impaired drivers off our roads this holiday season. Yesterday, Caledon OPP conducted RIDE in the area of Healey Road and Innis Lake Road. Impaired driving means operating a vehicle while your ability to do so has been compromised to any degree by consuming alcohol or drugs. Impaired driving laws also apply to operating boats, snowmobiles and off-road vehicles. If police determine that you have drugs or alcohol in your system or that you are impaired by any substance, you can face potential criminal charges. They say to expect many more RIDE locations throughout the campaign.
