The Milton Menace almost had a perfect weekend!
On Friday, October 25th, the Menace welcomed the Burlington Cougars to the Milton Memorial Arena. It was a good start for the home team, as Marco Costante potted his 3rd of the season, with help from Gabriel Ciarallo and Ashtyn Pacheco. That helped Milton take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
In the second period, the new guy got on the board! Spencer Vandenberg scored his 5th of the season with assists from Cole Semeniuk and Owen Kindree. Burlington would get one back, making it a 2-1 lead for the Menace after 40 minutes of play.
The Cougars would tie things up early in the third period, but Alessandro Petreccia would take back the lead. His 1st since returning to the team was assisted by Vandenberg and Madden MacDougall. Vandenberg would then seal the deal, with MacDougall and Captain Graeme MacAuley getting the late apples. Milton beat Burlington 4-2.
In net for the Menace was Austin McKillop. He stopped 27 of 29 shots, giving him a very respectable .931% save percentage.
A couple days later, the Menace went to Markham to play the Royals.
The first period was uneventful on the score sheet, but 16-year-old Ryder Cali got the Menace the lead in the second frame. His 10th goal of the season was assisted by Ivan Fabjan. 11 minutes later, the Royals would tie things up to make it 1-1 after 40 minutes of action.
No goals were scored in the final frame, leading the teams to overtime. That’s where Markham found the back of the net, giving them the 2-1 OT win.
In net for Milton was Ethan Kowatsch. He stopped 18 of 20 shots, giving him the even .900% save percentage.
Next up for the Menace is a road game against the St. Michaels Buzzers. Game time at the St. Michaels College Arena will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29th.
The Menace don’t return home until Friday, November 8th when they host the Buffalo Jr. Sabres. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
