The Milton Menace had a fight on their hands when they went north to play the Collingwood Blues.
For years, the Blues have been the juggernaut in the OJHL. They proved that on Sunday, October 13th. With 730 in attendance at the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena, the Blues started the first period off 15 shots to Milton’s six. Netminder Austin McKillop stood strong for the Menace, keeping the puck out of the net in the first frame.
The second period wasn’t a pretty one for the Menace. They managed to get just one shot on net in the period. The Blues matched that with 13 shots, with one of them finding the back of the net. It was 1-0 Collingwood after 40 minutes of action.
The third period was a vital one for Milton, and they managed to put ten shots on net to try and tie things up. It’d prove to be for naught, as the Blues would get the 1-0 shutout win.
McKillop stopped 34 of 35 shots, giving him a .971% save percentage.
There’s a few days off for the Menace before they play again. The boys will be at home on Friday, October 18th, hosting the Oakville Blades at the Milton Memorial Arena. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
