The Milton Menace will have to wait to get that playoff payback.
They went to Leamington on Thursday, October 11th to take on the Flyers. This was the first match-up between the teams since the Flyers eliminated the Menace in the playoffs last spring.
It didn’t start off well for Milton, as Leamington jumped out to a quick two-goal lead. Alexandr Siletskiy managed to right the ship momentarily, scoring his 3rd goal of the season just seconds later. It was assisted by Madden MacDougall and Cole Semeniuk. That was then quickly followed by a Flyers goal. Before the end of the frame, Luke Hampel would net his 6th of the year, assisted by Kyle Burton and Dean Deligeorgis. It was 3-2 Leamington after two periods of play.
In the second period, Leamington would score two unanswered goals and take a three-goal lead into the final frame.
The third period was ultimately uneventful, as the Flyers would be the Menace 5-2.
Ethan Kowatsch was in net to start the game for Milton. He faced four shots, stopping one of them. The Menace would pull him after 11 minutes and replace him with Austin McKillop, who stopped 34 of 36 shots.
Milton will look to rebound with another tough road game on Sunday, October 13th. This time it’ll be against the OJHL’s resident juggernaut, the Collingwood Blues. Read more here.
The Menace return home on Friday, October 18th against the Oakville Blades. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
