A resident shared a terrifying incident that unfolded at the intersection of Buenavista Drive and Oakridge Drive yesterday.
The post, shared on a local Facebook page contained the following:
“Today at Buenavista Dr and Oakridge Dr. in Orangeville, no more then 500 meters from my house, my mother in law stopped at the stop sign. She was flagged down by someone walking by. She rolled down the window and the person said she had a flat tire. She put the car in park and got out to check. As soon as she exited the vehicle, the person jumped in the car and took off. My 10 year old son was in the back seat. As the car sped away, my son jumped out of the moving car. He wasn’t hurt, but was obviously traumatized. The car is gone, but both my mother in law and my son are safe. I can’t begin to tell how upsetting this is. Thank the lord my son was smart enough to jump out of the car. It may have saved his life. Please spread this around to everyone you know. I do not want this to happen to anyone else. It could of been tragic.”
The post has been shared over 700 times so far on Facebook.
A scary reminder to stay vigilant, even in our small Town of Orangeville.
