This year’s federal theme is Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build.
There are many opportunities locally to find resources and hear from members of the community on Black Excellence.
The Dufferin County Canadian Black Association is hosting a free event in partnership with the Museum of Dufferin on Feb. 24th at Grace Tipling Hall.

The Orangeville Public Library features books that tie into this year’s Black History Month theme: “A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build”.

This month, Tales on the Trail at Island Lake Conservation Area features ‘AFRO No!’, a book written by young local author Amaya James.
Over at Terra Cotta Conservation Area, Meet Willie O’Ree by Elizabeth MacLeod is on display.
