The Dufferin Arts Council has announced the recipients of this years Anne Laurier Scholarship Fund
The $2,500 scholarships are awarded to Grade 12 students, who live in Dufferin County, who are going to College or University to study in the Arts.
“One of the truly rewarding things about Dufferin Arts Council has been seeing the amazing art being produced by young people in our community. These 3 women will succeed in whatever path they choose.” says DAC Chair Warren Maycock.
Caitlin Mount demonstrated impressive maturity through her various character awards and a strong ethic from years of dance.
She has graduated from ODSS and is looking forward to media studies at the University of Western Ontario.
Mikenna Terry demonstrated herself to have a “high level of dedication to the arts” as one reference stated.
A graduate of Westside Secondary, she has done multiple community murals for all to enjoy and promoted the arts working at a camp for kids. She is off to Humber shortly.
Kathleen Williams graduated ODSS with high praise from her teachers for her academic excellence as well as her passion for the community and her volunteer efforts.
Through her work with Skate Canada, she has helped many young people gain confidence on the ice and in themselves.
