Caledon Meal on Wheels and the Dufferin OPP have teamed up to provide a valuable and lifesaving service for the residents of Dufferin County.
Thanks to the generous support of the Orangeville Lions Club, Caledon Meal on Wheels is now partnering with the Dufferin OPP to bring Project Lifesaver to our community.
Project Lifesaver is for anyone, of any age, with a cognitive impairment and who is at risk of wandering.
Caregivers who have loved ones in long-term care and retirement homes may register in the program as well.
The equipment used by Project Lifesaver helps to decrease the time needed to locate the missing person.
“The ability to quickly locate a wandering loved one will save lives and provide peace of mind to affected families.” says Interim Detachment Commander, A/Inspector Dean Korn.
Recovery times for Project Lifesaver organizations average 30 minutes, which is 95% less time than standard operations without Project Lifesaver.
