A local Orangeville family will be hosting a charity garage sale on Saturday, as they prepare to participate in the world’s largest SickKids Hospital Hug in the world on May 13th.
Nichola and Tyon Windrim joined the FM101 Orangeville Morning Show to talk more about their cause and story.
After their daughter Myah was diagnosed with a brain tumour as a child in 2011 and given 9 months survival time, the family started Myah’s Wings – a team made up of family, friends and community members, that raised funds in support of the Meagan Bebenek Foundation – a Canadian charity that raises critical funds and awareness for paediatric brain tumour research. While Myah lived for over three years bravely battling the diagnosis, she passed in 2015.
Myah’s Brother Tyson talked about his experience with the Sick Kids Hospital Hug and the importance of the event.
The Garage Sale will start at 8am on James Arnott Crescent this Saturday.
