Following a decision made at Orangeville Council, the Town of Orangeville has revoked its COVID-19 vaccination policy for employees, volunteers, students, and contractors effective January 24.
The vaccination policy for council and committee members was revoked on January 10, 2023.
The vaccination policy was implemented by the Town in 2021 in alignment with other levels of government to work towards ending the pandemic and in alignment with public health recommendations at the time.
“The Town of Orangeville has worked hard to do our part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 throughout the pandemic,” said Raymond Osmond, Acting CAO.
“In addition to the vaccination policy, the Town has continued to put in place a number of policies to support employee’s health in the workplace and help reduce COVID-19.” he continued.
The changes mean new hires, volunteers, contractors and committee members will not be required to provide their vaccination status to work or conduct business with the Town of Orangeville.
