After sitting on town council for the past four years, Orangeville voters have given Lisa Post a promotion to the Mayor’s chair.
“Affordability is my top priority,” said Post in a recent interview with FM101 Orangeville.
“We’re all still feeling the sting of the pandemic, and the rising cost of living is a real burden on our day-to-day lives,” she said.
Post takes over the Mayor’s office from Sandy Brown, who did not seek re-election after one term.
She will be joined on top of council by Todd Taylor, who also spent the past 4 years as a councilor.
“Our town is going to change,” Taylor told FM101 Orangeville.
“[And] the decisions we make around development are going to be key,” he continued.
Post beat second place finisher Jeff Patterson by more than 1000 votes.
The rest of council will be rounded out by incumbent councilors Debbie Sherwood and Joe Andrews, as well as former deputy mayor Andy Macintosh.
Newcomers Tess Prendergast and Rick Stevens will also be seated for the next 4 years.
