It’s time to get those pink high heels out of the closet!
Hope in High Heels is back! The annual awareness campaign and fundraiser is returning to its in-person roots. It’s be a mostly virtual event over the pandemic. There will continue to be a virtual aspect for those who are unable to make the in-person event.
Men and boys will be strutting the town, some in pink high heels, to raise money for Halton Women’s Place. Carm Bozzo is Director, Philanthropy & Engagement for the shelter. She explains the origins of the walk.
Now fundraising. I want you to visit this link and learn about my friend Raheem the Dream who has been walking with us now 5 years and counting. He’s amazing and a true inspiration for me and I’d like if you could donate to him. https://t.co/qCyhhToNAB#Milton #MiltonON

One Milton resident continues to impress with his fundraising. 11-year-old Raheem Chaudhry will be taking part in his fifth Hope in High Heels event. Over the years, he has raised more than $5000. At the time of the interview, Chaudhry had collected more than $600 in pledges. He shares why he continues to walk each year.
Chaudhry regularly challenges his classmates at Bruce Trail Public School to take part in the event. He gave a shoutout to classroom 6-1 and hopes they can chip in before the weekend arrives.
While Raheem ‘The Dream’ Chaudhry may be Milton’s resident Raptors Superfan, Bozzo might just be his biggest fan.
Hope in High Heels is running until Sunday, September 25th. The in-person event will be on Saturday, September 24th at 10:00 a.m. It will start outside of Burlington’s City Hall. If you’d like to take part, either by walking or donating, check out the event’s webpage.
