You will soon be able to take Milton Transit to other municipalities.
The Town of Milton has announced that, in partnership with The Town of Halton Hills, Milton Transit is extending its service into Halton Hills and Mississauga. This will begin on Tuesday, September 6th. A new Peel TransHelp connection, as well as OnDemand and School Extra services, will also be launched.
“The Town is pleased to announce Milton Transit’s upcoming fall service changes, which includes our first cross boundary route to Mississauga,” says Director of Transit Services, Tony D’Alessandro. “Milton Transit is committed to meeting the needs of the community and being a reliable option to get to school or work, run errands, or go shopping. This milestone transit connection truly makes Milton A Place of Possibility.”
There will be a new route called 21 Steeles Route:
- This new route runs between the Milton GO Station and Lisgar GO Station with stops at the Toronto Premium Outlets in Halton Hills, as well as the Amazon Fulfillment Centre YYZ3 on Winston Churchill Boulevard. This bus route provides free transfers with MiWay and Brampton Transit along shared stops in Mississauga.
- Access+ customers can also travel into Mississauga, with the Lisgar GO Station as the transfer point to Peel TransHelp services.
OnDemand service is expanding:
- To the Derry Green area, where customers can request and book rides in real-time, using the Milton Transit OnDemand app. The stop will be on Yukon Court.
- In Boyne, between Louis St. Laurent Avenue and Britannia Road. This includes transfers to/from routes 2, 7, and 8 at Milton District Hospital.
School Extra service will resume when students are back to school with more service connections to Milton high schools in the morning and afternoon, as well as more connections to GO Transit.
