The Aug. 19 deadline for anyone interested in running in the upcoming municipal election has passed.
The top two positions in the Town of Mono will go uncontested.
Mayor John Creelman and Deputy Mayor Fred Nix will be re-elected through acclamation
Creelman was appointed to the position of Mayor last September, following the resignation of Laura Ryan.
The sale of her property in Mono, meant she no longer met the requirements to sit on municipal council.
At that time, Nix was appointed to the position of Deputy Mayor, after first being elected to council in 2010.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Shelburne will stay put.
Wade Mills, was acclaimed, as he was the only person who filed papers.
This will be his second term as mayor, following one term served as a councillor.
Mills also serves as warden for Dufferin County.
