A downtown Orangeville support group for persons with developmental differences will soon be allowed to participate in the town’s backyard chicken coop pilot project.
Founder of Branching Out Support Services, Kim Van Ryn says the organization will house chickens from a farm during the warmer seasons.
Branching Out will use Family Transition Place’s backyard to house the chicken coop.
Orangeville council agreed to a zoning exemption allowing FTP to store the chickens, pending a written agreement from the women’s shelter.
