More promising economic news in Dufferin County — the region seems to be showing signs of economic recovery.
According to the Workforce Planning Board of Waterloo Wellington Dufferin, the unemployment rate dropped 1 per cent between August and September, where it sits at 7.8 per cent in the rural areas of the region.
However, executive director, Charlene Hofbauer says the trend may make it challenging for employers to find workers.
Hofbauer says a COVID-influenced trend of women leaving the workforce to care for children may also reduce the labour pool for employers.
