Charging into open sea on a colossal vessel or scaling snow capped mountains — it’s really up to kids to make believe their adventures on Island Lake’s newest natural playground.
And the playground’s free-standing structures are specifically designed for this kind of imaginative play, according to Credit Valley Conservation spokesperson, Terri LeRoux.
Built structures include a 15-meter-long climbing wall, two sideways climbing trees, an obstacle course, outdoor musical instruments and Indigenous design elements.
There are plans to groom and freeze the 2.5 meter wide trail around the playground for skating and skiing in the winter.
