The serious morning collision on Highway 10 in Caledon, now confirmed as life-threatening, was allegedly caused by a drunk truck driver.
At about 7:52, Caledon OPP responded to the scene of a serious collision between a sedan and a gravel tractor trailer on Highway 10, just south of Charleston Sideroad.
Initial investigation revealed as the northbound tractor trailer turned left onto a private driveway, it collided with the southbound car.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
60-year-old Rana Singh of Brampton was charged with operation of bodily harm, operation while impaired – alcohol, operating while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs, and fail to stop at accident resulting in bodily harm.
The accused will appear in Orangeville court to answer to charges.
Highway 10 between Old Base Line road and Charleston sideroad is still closed while police investigate.
Witnesses are being asked to contact Caledon OPP.
