Earth Day is going digital and is campaigned this year as Earth Day at Home.
Acting as spokesperson for this year’s Earth Day, Montreal mayor, Valerie Plante is inviting Canadian municipalities to join her country-wide Tree Planting Relay by planting 50 trees in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, in which the Town of Orangeville says it’s happy to participate in.
Canadian families can visit Earth Day Canada Facebook and Instagram accounts for tips on how to implement green initiatives and live a more sustainable lifestyle from now until April 30th.
Locally, Sustainable Orangeville is donating environmentally-themed books to the Orangeville Public Library which hosts a storytime.
Orangeville councillor, Grant Peters and mayor Sandy Brown will read those stories on April 23rd at 10:15 a.m. on the Orangeville Public Library’s Youtube channel.
