Executive director, Heather Hayes says the initiative is meant to double food supply for food bank clients in a sanitary manner.
Instead of receiving 3 to 5 days-worth of food per month, food bank clients will receive a couple weeks-worth of food per month.
Dufferin Food Share will operate under a drive-thru model in which users will place orders and will be handed food packages in their vehicles to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
Hayes is also appealing to those who stockpiled on supplies a week ago to share with those in need.

Hayes says in the last few weeks, she’s seen a greater diversity of food bank users and expects many more as the COVID-19 business shut down forces some individuals out of work.
Dufferin Food Share will open on March 30th at the Salvation Army New Hope Church on 690 Riddell Road.
