Orangeville mayor Sandy Brown says it’ll take some time for financial relief to trickle down from upper tier governments.
The mayor joined myFM reporter, Mike Van Etten on air and slammed the province for offering $100 to $300 million in financial aid for those affected by the volatile economy as businesses are grappling with the impact of COVID-19.
He says that money just doesn’t cut it.
While he does expect looming layoffs, it’ll take some time for compensation funds from provincial and federal governments to make its way to the local level.
When it does, those funds will be handled by Dufferin County.
