Caledon residents can get rid of unwanted or used batteries during their next regular pickup for recyclables.
The region says that “car batteries and sealed lead acid batteries are not collected” during the twice-a-year curb pickup of batteries.
However, they can be taken to a Community Recycling Centre for free disposal.
Peel Region said it has collected more than 240,000 kgs of batteries that might have otherwise ended up in the landfill.
