An Orangeville man is among five people facing charges following significant drug bust by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS).
Labelled as ‘Project Regal’, it began in Oakville and Brampton, targeting a drug supply network operating across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Between Saturday, February 8th and Monday, February 10th, officers executed eight search warrants at residences in Oakville, Brampton, and Toronto. As a result of the warrants, the following items have been seized:
- Approximately 11 kilograms of Cocaine
- Approximately 1/2 kilogram of Methamphetamine
- 3 ounces of Fentanyl
- 2 loaded firearms (Sig Sauer and Glock handguns equipped with an extended magazine)
- 2 Kevlar vests
- Approximately $250,000 of bundled currency
- A re-vinned BMW sedan
33-year-old Tristan Bonnick of Brampton has been charged with the following offences:
- Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Cocaine)
- Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
31-year-old Joseph Campbell of Oakville has been charged with the following offences:
- Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Cocaine) (18 counts)
- Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) (2 counts)
- Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl) (2 counts)
- Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Methamphetamine)
37-year-old Shaun Homem of Brampton has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) (2 counts)
- Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Methamphetamine)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Contravention of Storage Regulations
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
30-year-old Brendon Rego of Brampton has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) (2 counts)
- Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Methamphetamine)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Contravention of Storage Regulations
- Breach of Firearm Prohibition Order (2 counts)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (2 counts)
- Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Cocaine)
31-year-old Damion Rego of Orangeville has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Methamphetamine)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
All accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

Organized crime groups that traffic dangerous drugs such as fentanyl, and methamphetamine put lives at risk every day,” says Inspector Raf Skwarka of Regional Investigative Services. “The seizure of these drugs, firearms, and other stolen property sends a strong message – we will not tolerate this criminal activity in our region. Public safety remains our top priority, and we will continue to work tirelessly to hold those who threaten it accountable.”
