It only took a few weeks, but the provincial election has come and gone.
Dufferin-Caledon’s results, provided by Elections Ontario:
- Sylvia Jones (PCP) – 26,072 (52%)
- Michael Dehn (OLP) – 12,606 (25%)
- Sandy Brown (GPO) – 6,157 (12%)
- George Nakitsas (NDP) – 3,184 (6%)
- Kris Eggleton (NBP) – 1,074 (2%)
- Alexey Cherkashov (OMP) – 489 (.98%)
- Jeffrey Halsall (IND) – 384 (.77%)
59/59 polls have reported.
With 116,309 registered electors, Dufferin-Caledon had 42.96% voter turnout.
Unofficially, Sylvia Jones will once again be Dufferin-Caledon’s Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP).
She’ll work underneath his party leader, Doug Ford, who also retained his role as Premier of Ontario.
At the time of writing, the Progressive Conservative Party has won 80 seats with 42% of the popular vote. The NDP will remain as the Official Opposition with 27 seats, though the Ontario Liberal Party managed nearly 600,000 more votes across the province in comparison.
