A Burlington man is the latest local lottery winner.
Daxinos Sands has $171,082.30 to put toward his dreams after winning a Lotto Max econd prize in the Tuesday, December 31st draw.
The married father of one has been playing the lottery with OLG for more than 20 years. He’s now delighted to share the news of his first big win!
“Ten days after the draw, I took my LOTTO MAX ticket to the store to use their ticket checker,” Daxinos said, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim his prize. “To my surprise, my ticket was a big winner! I checked it a few more times to be sure I was seeing the numbers correctly. I was truly stunned!”
Sands went straight home to share the incredible news with his wife.
“She was just as shocked as I’d been, and of course, very happy,” he smiled. “My daughter and mother-in-law were equally excited when I shared the news with them.”
He’s still thinking about how to spend the winnings, but he’ll likely pay some bills and travel abroad.
The winning ticket was purchased at Win Lotto on New Street in Burlington.
