The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says 44-year-old Sunil Ragoonanan of Caledon has been arrested.
They thanked the public for helping in the search.

A man is wanted by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) after he was mistakenly released from Milton’s Maplehurst Correctional Complex.
44-year-old Sunil Ragoonanan of Caledon was released by staff Monday, February 3rd. The mistake has been referred to as a “clerical error.” He’s aware of this error, and has not returned to Maplehurst.
A warrant is being sought by HRPS for the offence of Unlawfully at Large. Ragoonanan is awaiting disposition for charges related to breaches of his release orders.
Ragoonanan is described by the HRPS as:
- male
- brown skin
- black hair
- brown eyes
- 6’1” tall
- thin build
Police believe he may be back in the Caledon area. If observed, do not approach and call 911.
Ragoonanan is encouraged to retain counsel and contact the HRPS.
