Stolen vehicles from Halton have been found among more than a dozen recovered by the Toronto Police Service.
In August 2024, investigators commenced an investigation into the trafficking of stolen motor vehicles.
On Friday, September 13th, a shipping container related to the investigation was intercepted and examined by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Members of the Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad liaised with CBSA officers and determined that the six vehicles located inside the container were stolen from Toronto, York, Peel, and Halton.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the officers executed six search warrants on Friday, January 24th, with the assistance of the Public Safety Response Team and 32, 41 and 42 Division Major Crime Units. Five suspects were taken into custody.
During the searches, it is further alleged that officers recovered a replica handgun, ammunition, a GPS jammer and other items of evidentiary value related to the investigation. It’s also alleged that officers recovered eight more vehicles that had been stolen in Toronto, Halton, Durham and Ottawa. Additional photos of the seizure can be found at the bottom of the article.
