Officers from the OPP, Caledon Detachment, stopped 32 commercial motor vehicles as part of a recent enforcement initiative in Caledon East.
On December 19th, Community Response Units conducted focused enforcement on Commercial Vehicles traveling on Airport Road.
Over 30 Highway Traffic Act charges were laid against drivers and companies.
Most notably, a transport truck from a truck driving school was found without a current inspection. There were also other deficiencies in the required documentation for the vehicle. Both the driver and the school were charged.
Caledon OPP would like to remind motorists to continue reporting potentially dangerous vehicles, including commercial motor vehicles, or poor driving behavior by calling 911. Using a mobile device to report a potential impaired driver will not result in a charge for using a hand-held communication device.
