Police are warning residents that fraudsters are still using the Grandparent Scam to rob people of their money.
Seniors are often the target.
The scammer will pretending to be a family member in distress, making up stories about being in jail needing bail money…
Most will ask for that money to be in the form of cash, crypto currency or gift cards.
Police say if you receive a suspicious call, hang up and call that person directly.
