Westside Secondary here in Orangeville is currently holding their annual fundraiser called: Warm Winter Wishes. It is designed to help families within the school community who need a little extra support.
Last year, the fundraiser was able to help over 40 families. Gift cards were purchased through cash donations and made a significant impact on the people who received them. Donations were used to purchase food, clothing and other necessities from local businesses.
The initiative is run with the help of Student volunteers. Noah, one of the volunteers, explains why he got involved:
Monetary donations of any amount are greatly-appreciated. Donations greater than $20 are eligible for a tax receipt; Donations can be delivered to the Main Office at Westside, Student Services or Cash Online, if you have a student that attends Westside.
