An Oakville woman is the latest local lottery winner!
Suzan Yilmaz Uyanik matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the Saturday, October 26th Lotto 6/49 draw to win $100,000.
The self-employed mother of two says she plays the lottery every couple of months. She’s now celebrating her first big win!
“My husband and I were out for breakfast with family when he reminded me to check my ticket. I didn’t think much of it and had him check it using the OLG app,” she recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “As we finished our meal, my husband asked me to step outside with him. Once we were there, he said to me, ‘I think we have a big winner here!’ He showed me the prize amount and I was so shocked! I’ve never won anything like this before.”
She added that she was having hard time understanding what was happening.
“It was like being in an elevator and suddenly feeling it drop beneath you. My husband kept counting the zeros to be sure we were reading it correctly. We’re used to winning Free Plays!”
Suzan has yet to decide what to do with her winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Eglinton Smoke Shop on Eglinton Avenue East in Toronto.
