The Milton Menace returned home for the first time in two weeks on Friday, September 20th.
They welcomed in the Cobourg Cougars to the Milton Memorial Arena. The game started off poorly for the Menace, as the Cougars were the first to get on the board. Milton would tie the game up before the end of the first period, with Lucas Tye scoring his 2nd of the season, assisted by Owen Kindree and Marco Costante. It was 1-1 after 20 minutes.
In the second period, the Menace took over. Ivan Fabjan also scored his 2nd of the year, with help from Nathan Catalano and leading scorer Gabriel Ciarallo. That was followed up by Ashtyn Pacheco, who was assisted by 16-year-old Ryder Cali and Markus Hicks. Before the end of the frame, Madden MacDougall made it a three goal game, with Ciarallo getting another apple alongside Philip Roberto. It was 4-1 after two periods of play.
The Cougars didn’t make it close in the third, as the Menace ran away with it. Ciarallo finally got on the goal sheet, scoring his 5th of the season. Cali and MacDougall were credited with assists. Alexandr Siletskiy then put the nail in the coffin, potting 1st of the year. It was assisted by Gavin Sheehan and Tristan Tremble. Milton won the game 6-1.
In net for the Menace was Austin McKillop. He stopped 24 of 25 shots, giving him an even .960% save percentage. It was his first win of the season, as the Menace continue to rotate their three goalies.
The team has now headed south for the annual OJHL Governor’s Showcase. It’s being held in Niagara Falls this year. The Menace will play on Monday, September 23rd against the Aurora Tigers, and Tuesday, September 24th against the Trenton Golden Hawks. Both games start at 11:00 a.m.
They’re back home on Friday, September 27th against the King Rebellion. Puck drop at the Milton Memorial Arena will be at 7:30 p.m.
