Get ready for a taste of winter in downtown Orangeville—but without the chill!
Over the next week (September 9th – 16th), the north side of Broadway and parts of the town’s medians will transform into a festive holiday scene as Cineflix (Trading Up) Inc. rolls into town to film their latest Christmas movie, Trading Up Christmas.
Filming will take place on Broadway between First and Second Street, featuring some of Orangeville’s beloved businesses.
During this time, parking will be restricted in that area.
Here’s when to expect restrictions:
- September 9 to 12: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- September 13: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- September 16: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
While no road closures are planned, you may experience minor traffic delays or brief stoppages as scenes are shot.
Traffic will be managed to keep things running as smoothly as possible.
The set will bring some holiday cheer to Broadway, with minor changes like covering up flowers, adding wintery decorations, frosted windows, and even artificial snow.
Rest assured, sidewalks and transit stops will stay open, and businesses will remain accessible during their regular hours.
Cineflix will also use about 45 parking spots at the Alder Street Recreation Centre near the BMX park.
This section will be closed starting Sunday morning, September 8th, and will reopen on Tuesday, September 17th.
Feel free to stop by and watch the magic happen—just be sure to keep a safe distance so you don’t disturb the filming!
