Whether you walk, drive, run or bike down Broadway? you’ve seen it.
The Uptown Theatre Sign.
This buildings history traces back around 1927, towards the end of the silent movies era.
In the late 1940s,
Uptown went through its first remodel, operating at the time as a single screen movie theatre.
A second screen was added upstairs in the late 1970s.
In 2002, Uptown closed its doors, closing for good as a theatre.
It was purchased shortly after by Good Friends Church (Uptown Church), with the congregation putting over 26,000 volunteer hours into cleaning and restoring the building.
