Experience the Canadian tradition of maple syrup production at Credit Valley Conservation’s annual Maple Syrup in the Park!
Maple Syrup in the Park takes place at Terra Cotta Conservation Area March 14th to 17 & 23rd and 24th.
You can look forward to family-friendly activities that celebrate maple season, including:
- Five educational stations with historical and modern demonstrations of how sap turns into syrup.
- Free cedar tea to sip at sacred fire chats while learning about Indigenous culture.
- Blacksmith demonstration of how iron tools were hand-made.
- Additional activities perfect for families include a scavenger hunt, maple-themed storybook walk and a trail to the sugarbush to see where sap is collected at the park.
Complete your Maple Syrup in the Park visit with a stop at the Pancake House for a pancake breakfast with real maple syrup.
CVC is also offering small group experiences during maple season at Terra Cotta Conservation Area.
VIP Tours during Maple Syrup in the Park
Visitors can enjoy a gourmet breakfast, guided tour of the sugarbush and educational demonstrations. Taste a variety of maple syrup grades, sample taffy and more.
Lamplight: Maple Syrup After Dark
Back by popular demand! Enjoy a wagon ride through the forest to the illuminated sugarbush. Visitors will learn about the history of maple syrup in Canada, sample warm maple syrup and enjoy a tasting menu of maple-themed food and drink while relaxing around the campfire with live music. This event is for visitors 19 years of age or older.
Sap to Syrup: A Maple Syrup Making Experience
Learn how to turn sap into sweet maple syrup during this hands-on experience at the sugar shack. During the experience, visitors will learn how to tap trees, collect sap and use an evaporator to make and bottle maple syrup to take home. This event is for visitors 16 years of age or older.
Sugarbush Wagon Rides
New this year! Take a wagon ride with the family to the sugarbush. Learn how maple syrup is made, try taffy and maple syrup samples, then enjoy hot drinks and s’mores over a campfire. This event is for families with children aged 12 and under.
