Are you hoping for more snow before spring officially starts?
We’re expecting it to get even warmer over the next few days, and it could mean the last of the remaining snow will melt. For now, it seems Wiarton Willie got the early spring prediction spot on!
That said, next week is looking a little chilly compared to this week. Forecasts are always subject to change, especially that far out, but we do need to remember that it’s only February.
Are you happy with the latest spurt of warmth – or would you prefer to see some more snow in the coming weeks?
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – Here’s when registration is open for local summer camps
It might still be early February, but the Town of Milton is already getting prepped for summer! Families can now view which camp programs will be available this summer online. Registration starts on Tuesday, February 13th for locals, while non-residents will have to wait until the 15th. Daily WTF – Flush your ex this Valentine’s Day
Another company is hoping you hate your ex so much that you’ll buy their product! The latest one to use this marketing ploy is toilet paper company ‘Who Gives a Crap’. They’re willing to put your ex’s poetry on toilet paper and ship it off to you. It’s 100% recycled. You just send love letters from your ex to the company, and they ship it back to you in the form of TP. They say “nothing’s better than putting those sweet nothings where they belong.” Accurate.

Surprise Moana sequel to hit cinemas this year, Disney announces
Disney hid this one well! Surprising a lot of people, a teaser trailer for Moana 2 dropped on Wednesday. It shows the titular character on the beach of an island, picking up her conch shell and blowing into it. This sequel announcement follows news of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson starring in a live-action version of Moana, which should be interesting, if nothing else. If you and/or your kids really enjoyed the first movie, you can expect Moana 2 to hit theatres this November.
Justin Timberlake announces Toronto tour dates following backlash
Whenever musicians announce massive tours, people always comb through the listings to see if their local town or city was included. For local fans of Justin Timberlake, they were very hurt when his tour announcement didn’t originally include Toronto. It didn’t last for long, though. JT has now announced that his Forget Tomorrow world tour will come to Scotiabank Arena this October. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. Have fun!
Rock climber scales massive Sphere venue near the Las Vegas Strip to protest abortion
There are A LOT of things happening in Vegas these next few days. On top of the usual activities, WWE officials and wrestling fans are in the city Thursday for a WrestleMania press conference. It’s a big deal (for wrestling fans and only wrestling fans). Oh, and there’s a little ditty known as the ‘Super Bowl’ this weekend, ya ever heard of it? With all of this media in the city, it seemed like the ideal time for a rock climber to scale the 112-metre tall Las Vegas Sphere. Making headline news, it turns out this guy was doing it out of protest! What exactly? He was protesting abortion. He was also raising funds for a pregnant woman in the city who is currently facing homelessness. Bit of a roller-coaster of a video that he posted. Police called it a publicity stunt, and have since arrested the man. Officials called the act ” an incredibly stupid stunt” and urged people to never try it. You mean we shouldn’t climb the rounded structure that looks like an eyeball staring at planes flying into Vegas? Ya don’t say.
Study finds the top ‘good luck’ game day foods
Sports fans are NOTORIOUSLY superstitious. You’ll be hard pressed to find someone who loves a sports team and hasn’t thought that the shirt/jersey they’re wearing affected the games outcome at least once. ‘Luck’ is thrown around a lot in the sporting world, and a study diving into lucky foods has found the best ones. Burgers, chicken wings, and hot dogs are considered the luckiest foods, along with pizza, popcorn, and chips. Sports fans should avoid deviled eggs, garlic bread, mozzarella sticks, salsa, and queso dip. Why exactly? The researchers polled 2000 sports fans, and these were the results that came back. So, if you’re a Chiefs or 49ers fan this weekend, you might want to watch what you eat… Not for the calories, but for the luck factor…
Alabama radio station puzzled at theft of 200-foot tower
I don’t even know how this happens… An Alabama radio station had their signal tower stolen. It’s a 200-foot structure, fit with wires and technology. Officials at the station first noticed it was missing when crews went to work on it. The station had been running their signal through different means as work was planned to be done on this tower, so they never went off-air during the theft. That makes it hard to pinpoint when and how exactly this happened. Police are warning the thieves that this is a federal crime, and they will be charged accordingly if/when they’re found. Until then, it’s a rebuilding season for the radio station. Like, they will have to literally rebuild the tower. I can’t believe I have to say this, but don’t steal our signal tower. It’s a giant white pole with a little shack at the bottom on Ontario Street South/Highway 25. I’d say you’d be hard pressed to take it, but apparently it can be done!
