Talk about living the dream!
Clayton Morris and Josephine Nibbering of Georgetown won $1 million in the LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball Draw on Wednesday, June 28th.
The two 58-year-olds have been married for 33-years and this is their first big win. Nibbering says she and her husband were at home when she checked their ticket on the OLG App.
“My phone made the winning sound, and we jumped up and down,” she recounted, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up their windfall. “At first, we thought we won $1,000!”
“It was a very exciting moment,” added Morris.
Josephine and Clayton shared the exciting news with their son.
“He told me to put on my glasses,” laughed Josephine. “When he saw the message on my phone, he was very surprised and did a double take.”
With their winnings, Clayton and Josephine will manage their finances and plan a vacation or two. The couple is also expecting their first grandchild and look forward to the security they can provide.
“It’s a feeling you never expect to experience,” said Josephine.
“This win also gives us a sense of security for our retirement,” added Clayton. “It’s life-changing.”
The winning ticket was purchased at the Metro grocery store on Mountainview Road in Georgetown.
