Over 400 community-minded individuals gathered in Inglewood on Sunday, May 7th as part of the annual Hike for Bethell Hospice.
Results to date show the total raised at over $126,000 with money still rolling in.
“Support has been overwhelming,” said Kelly Stronach, Senior Manager, Bethell Hospice Foundation Marketing & Communications.
“The community has been so supportive and we are incredibly appreciative.”
The event featured an accessible, five kilometre hike along the Caledon Tail; a memory board full of heart stickers dedicated to loved ones; a delicious barbecue lunch prepared by the Rotary Club of Palgrave and Maple Lodge Farms; and an opportunity for hikers to visit the art station and personalize a butterfly or plant a wildflower seed in memory of a loved one.
Each year, Bethell Hospice Foundation must raise over $1,500,000 to keep the doors of Bethell Hospice open, and provide services at no cost to residents, program participants or their families.
Bethell Hospice is the only residential hospice serving Caledon, Brampton, and Dufferin County, and also offers community programs throughout Caledon and Brampton.
Next year’s Hike for Bethell Hospice is scheduled for Sunday, May 5th, 2024.
