Following in the footsteps of both Caledon and Mississauga, the Town of Orangeville will be offering free menstrual products at Town owned facilities.
Orangeville Council recently approved a motion that will see the Town purchase and install 20 dispensers at 5 facilities and 4 parks by this fall.
According to -Plan International Canada- 63% of people with periods have missed an activity due to their period and concerns about not being able to access menstrual products.
A one time installation cost of $6257 will cover materials and supplies.
An additional $1500 is required to brand the units.
It will cost $10,950 to fund the program annually.
