A Toronto man is facing multiple charges after a routine traffic stop in the Town of Mono.
Dufferin OPP say an officer on general patrol conducted the stop on Highway 89 shortly after 12:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Police say the driver was operating the vehicle under a suspended license. Further investigation revealed a quantity of drugs and weapons inside the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old man from Toronto is facing multiple charges, including:
- Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling – contrary to the Cannabis Act
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose – contrary to the Criminal Code
- Driving while under suspension – contrary to The Highway Traffic Act
In addition, the following items were siezed from the vehicle:
- Cash
- Prohibited weapons – (Two)
- Cell phones
- Several Cannabis edible packages
- Cannabis vape pens.
- Cannabis Hash and Resin.
- Several bags of Cannabis
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville, in February 2022, to answer to the charges.
