The Milton Menace picked up a big win against a cross-Halton rival.
The boys headed south to take on the Oakville Blades on Tuesday, November 22nd. Unfortunately, the Blades started off the scoring at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. The Menace then answered right back when Joseph Meleca scored his first Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) goal. That was assisted by Ivan Fabjan. Near the end of the period, Travis Houle then scored his own first OJHL goal, assisted by Meleca and Bradley Banach, giving the Menace the 2-1 lead. The Blades would then tie the game less than a minute later, ending the first period at 2-2.

The second period was all Milton. Myles Perry scored at the 9:14 mark, assisted by Thomas Gordon and Owen Kindree. Two minutes later, Dylan McFadden made it a two-goal game with a goal. That was assisted by Cory Liu and Aidan Pulley. A few minutes after that, the Menace continued their run with a third unanswered goal, as Lucas Buzziol scored with help from Aidan Hughes. The Menace led the Blades 5-2 at the 40-minute mark.
In the third period, Oakville would get a goal back at the 1:28 mark. Hughes then answered right back with a goal, assisted by Gordon and Buzziol. Justin O’Donnell then added the dagger with help from Gordon and Connor Driscoll. Not even a pair of goals by the Blades would help them, as the Menace would win 7-5.
Will Goumas was in net for Milton. He stopped 22 of 27 shots for a .814% save percentage and the win.
With 25 games now under their belts, the Menace are 17-5-1-2 with 37 points. That keeps them at third place in the OJHL North/West Conference.
The Menace next play on Friday, November 25th. They’ll take on the Aurora Tigers. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. Milton Menace home tickets for this OJHL season can be found here.
