The Milton Menace had a rough weekend.
Coming in on Friday with a 14-2-0-1 record this season, the Menace were feeling pretty good. They were set to take on the Pickering Panthers at home. The game started off well for Milton, with Cole Semeniuk scoring in the first period. That goal was assisted by Aidan Hughes. It was 1-0 Milton after 20 minutes of play.
The second period wasn’t the most action heavy 20 minutes, with the Panthers scoring the lone goal to tie the game at one after 40 minutes.
The third period was all Pickering, as the Menace gave up two goals and lost the game 3-1.
Christian Trianni is listed as the starter in net for Milton. He stopped 31 of 34 shots, giving him a respectable .911% save percentage.
Milton then hit the road on Saturday to take on the Stouffville Spirit.
The game started the same way, with the Menace scoring first in the first. Connor Driscoll potted the goal at the 16-minute mark, with assists from Cole Semeniuk and Aidan Hughes.
Once again, that was the only goal for Milton this game.
The Spirit tied the game in the second period, and the third period was a scoreless affair. That sent the game to overtime, where the Spirit were able to net the game winner. Milton lost 2-1 in overtime.
Trianni was the netminder once again for Milton, according to the box score. He faced 24 shots and stopped 22 of them, giving him another respectable game with a .916% save percentage.
The Menace have fallen to second in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) North/West Conference with a 14-3-0-2 record, good for 30 points on the season. They will have a few days to regroup and reset before they take on the Brantford 99ers on Thursday, November 10th. Puck-drop will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Gretzky Main Arena in Brantford.
