The Milton Menace remain red hot!
Heading into the weekend, the Menace were nearly undefeated, losing just one game all season. That was an overtime loss to the Collingwood Blues while at the OJHL Governors’ Showcase in Cobourg. Now on Monday, October 3rd, the Menace remain at just one loss.
Let’s start on Friday, September 30th. The Milton Menace were host to the Stouffville Spirit at the Milton Memorial Arena. It started off poorly for Milton. The Spirit jumped out to a 2-0 lead just 2:55 into the first period. Ben Hofstetter was then able to calm things down, scoring a goal at the 8:42 mark. That was assisted by Connor Driscoll and Luca Rea. Lucas Buzziol then tied things up for Milton before the end of the first, with assists from Ryan O’Toole and Aidan Hughes. It was 2-2 after one.
Owen Kindree then put the Menace ahead with a goal in the second. That was assisted by Dylan McFadden and Bradley Banach. It was 3-2 Milton after two.
The Spirit then tied things up late in the third with the help of an extra attacker. It was tied at three heading into overtime.
Menace captain Owen Forester was the hero once again on Friday night. He scored the overtime winner, with assists from Hughes and Kindree. The Menace won 4-3 in overtime.
The box score gave Will Goumas the win. He had 19 stops on 22 shots, good for a .863% save percentage.
The Menace then drove down Regional Road 25 into Oakville to take on the Blades.
The game started with Oakville scoring first. It was 1-0 game for most of the opening frame before Luca Rea was able to tie the game at the 16:23 mark. That was assisted by Connor Driscoll and Bradley Banach. Just under two minutes later, Aidan Puley buried the go ahead goal, with help from Cory Liu. It was 2-1 after one.
The Menace then went on to absolutely bury the Blades. In the second period, Dylan McFadden scored a powerplay goal with an assist from Ryan O’Toole. It was 3-1 after two.
It got ugly in the third. Here are the goals:

The Menace won 7-2.
The box score has Christian Trianni as the Milton goaltender. He faced significant pressure with 30 shots, but managed to get 28 saves. That’s good enough for a .933% save percentage.

Through nine games, the Milton Menace have a whopping 17 points on the season with a 8-0-0-1 record. That puts them in second place in the North/West Conference behind the still undefeated Collingwood Blues, who are 9-0-0-0 so far this year. The Menace are also sitting in third place in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) standings.
The Menace now have a few days off before they head to Georgetown to take on the Raiders on Wednesday, October 5th. Puck drop at the Mold-Masters SportsPlex Arena will be at 7:30 p.m.
