Another local pond is getting a bit of a makeover.
The Town of Milton has launched a project to remove sediment from the fore bay of the storm water management pond at 1030 Sprucedale Lane. The process seems similar to the work being done on various other stormwater management ponds around Milton.
In a notice, the Town says “Sediment removal is necessary to maintain pond function, ensure adequate quantity and quality control, and to provide environmental protection to our downstream receivers (Sixteen Mile Creek).”
Enhancements include:
- Sediment removal (fore bay only)
- Concrete repairs (pond structures including inlet and ditch inlet catch basin)
- Site grading repairs (pond banks)
- Clearing and grubbing (remove excess vegetation)
Like with the other stormwater management pond projects, no official road closures will be required to facilitate work; however, lane closures may be required to allow contractors to access ponds, move machinery and material in and out of the site. Pathways and trails in and around ponds may be closed to pedestrian traffic as required to facilitate work, and will be determined in the field, on a site-by-site basis.
