New restrictions implemented by the Ontario government begin today, In an effort to slow the spread and bring down the province’s growing number of COVID-19 cases.
Pressure has been mounting in hospitals Province wide.
All non-urgent surgeries have been paused, as the number of Covid-19 patients in hospital continues to rise.
Social gatherings are limited to five people indoors and 10 people outdoors.
School classes will run remotely until at least January 17th, other measures include Cinemas, gyms, theatres and restaurants must pause indoor activities…. while retail stores and personal care services…. are limited to 50 per cent capacity.
Locally, Recreation Centres in Orangeville will close and facility rentals and programs are cancelled.
The Orangeville Public Library will close, but continue to offer curbside pick-up at the Mill Street location.
Town Hall will close, with appointments available for essential services only.
Municipal parks remain open for use, as will outdoor skating rinks once they are operational.
There are 11,582 new cases of Covid-19 in Ontario today.
Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health has reported 12 new cases in Dufferin County, and 446 active cases.
The Alder Rec Centre will host a walk in vaccination clinic today from nine thirty A-M to three P-M.
First and Second Doses of a Covid-19 vaccine will be administered at a walk-in basis.
Booster shots must be booked in advance.
Over 4 million Ontarians have received a booster dose.
