Students in Ontario will get an extended Christmas Break, but only by 2 days.
Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Kieran Moore announced Thursday (dec30) afternoon, schools will open on Wednesday January 5 for in-class learning.
He says the reason for not extending the break, like other provinces was the expectation of parents to use the COVID rapid response tests sent home when school ended.

Dr. Moore says further precautions such as N-95 masks will be provided to school staff and licenced child care settings and students will be provided with high quality 3-ply cloth masks.
3000 HEPA filtration units will go to school boards to provide additional health and safety measures.
