There are 3,453 new cases of Covid-19 in Ontario today.
165 people are in ICU, 128 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.
Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health has reported 4 new cases in Dufferin County, and 106 active cases.
In an attempt to protect healthcare workers and patients at the Headwaters Health Care Centre, new protocols will be put into place starting tomorrow.
Effective December 21st, all designated care partners visiting Headwaters Health Care Centre will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 , have a documented medical exemption for not being vaccinated, or be ineligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
In light of the new Omicron variant, HHCC will also be moving to more restrictive visitation.
This includes:
• Permitting one designated care partner in the following circumstances:
o End of Life (deemed as within two weeks)
o Life altering or critical illness (including trauma)
o In active labour
o Pediatric care (children under the age of 18)
o Mental health crisis
• designated care partners will not be able to accompany outpatients for appointments
except in special circumstances where a support person is necessary.
•designated care partners will not be given access to the Emergency Department, unless in
exceptional circumstances where a support person is necessary for a minor, persons with
disabilities or cognitive challenges or those requiring special assistance, such as language
translation
