The Museum of Dufferin raised a Rainbow Flag yesterday afternoon, in celebration of diversity in the County.
Pride Month is a positive stance against discrimination and violence toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people, to promote their self-affirmation, dignity, equality rights, and celebrate sexual diversity and gender variance.
Warden Darren White was on scene for the flag raising , and expressed that in our community, we should be accepting of everybody, regardless of our different individuality.
This year, Dufferin County has also added a Multicultural flag as a part of the celebration, as Canada mourns the remains of two hundred and fifteen children found at a former residential school in British Columbia.
